Grape Varietals: 100% Sangiovese
Tasting Notes: This wine spends 2 years in 38HL oak barrels so give it a little time to open up …and once it does, it will blow your socks off. A true expression of the Sangiovese grape, tobacco and leather are there as you would expect with hints of aniseed and liquorice on the finish. This was my favourite vintage of this wine so I kept a few back for me to drink on special occasions.

Did you know?: Gregorio the producer studied economics at university and worked as an auditor. Then on his 40th birthday he packed it in, packed up and moved to Il Civettaio to manage a farm and make wine. What a legend.
