Rachel Roddy is one of the country’s best-loved food writers, whose weekly column in the Guardian and two award-winning cookbooks gently guide readers through the food culture, stories and recipes of Rome, her adopted city. However, Rachel grew up in Harpenden on the edge of the Chilterns and we are delighted to welcome her back to the area for a special supper club event.
Housed in the farm’s beautiful Herb House on Peterly Manor Farm http://www.peterleymanorfarm.co.uk (it will be chilly, so dress up warm), Rachel will greet diners with a welcome glass of fizz before a short interview and Q&A before dinner. Then, at large informal sharing tables, guests will be treated to four courses of traditional Italian food but made with the finest of local ingredients. Four courses, four tables, and Rachel will join each for a course to chat all things food, Italy and food writing.
The wines on the evening will be presented by us. A nice fizz from Le Marche to start, a juicy Vermentino from Tuscany and then the incredible 100% Sangiovese from Il Civettaio to cap off the evening.
We will also be taking case orders on the night so you can stock up your wine rack before the holidays.
